Bestar is committed to product safety and conducting its business in a socially responsible manner consistent with applicable law.
Bestar has become aware of a safety issue with our wall beds that can arise when installation instructions are not followed. Failure to install the wall bed properly and consistently with Bestar’s instructions can lead to injury or death. Bestar is aware that some wall beds have been installed with “hollow wall” anchors or where screws were not properly installed or the base molding was not removed; each of these scenarios presents a safety risk.
Bestar instructions clearly direct customers to use a professional or qualified person to install wall beds. Improper assembly and/or attachment to the wall structure may result in a sudden collapse of the wall bed where it can become detached from the wall and fall, resulting in serious injury or death.
To be safe, please answer the following questions and follow the direction provided:
Did you use a professional or qualified person to install your wall bed?
• If No, stop using the wall bed immediately and call Bestar at the number below. You will need to use a professional or qualified person to inspect and repair (if necessary) your wall bed installation.
Do you have any concerns regarding the correct installation of your wall bed?
• If Yes, stop using the wall bed immediately and call Bestar at the number below. You will need to use a professional or qualified person to inspect and repair (if necessary) your wall bed installation.
Were “hollow-wall” anchors used for the wall attachment of your wall bed to the wall structure?
• If Yes, or if you do not know, stop using the wall bed immediately and call Bestar at the number below. You will need to use a professional or qualified person to inspect and repair (if necessary) your wall bed installation.
If any repair or assistance is required, Bestar will provide instructions and hardware appropriate to each model for proper installation to the wall structure present in your residence.
